The Norwalk Police Department released surveillance photos on Monday of a suspect believed to have stolen the phone from a Westport Avenue Shell Gas Station on Feb. 25.
Police said that the victim allegedly left the station and placed his phone down on the front counter. After completing his transaction, the man forgot the phone on the counter, and when he returned to the gas station a short time later in an attempt to retrieve the phone, he found that it had been taken before he could get there.
According to police, the suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 male, possibly Asian, with long black hair, brown eyes, a moustache, an earring in his left ear and eyeglasses. He was wearing a hooded zip-up jacket, black paints and red and white sneakers at the time of the alleged theft. He proceeded to leave the gas station in a late model silver Acura with tinted windows and a sunroof.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect or who may identify him has been asked to contact investigators at the Norwalk Police Department by calling (203) 854-3051 or texting “NPD” followed by the message to 274637.
